Training
If you want the pay and perks of an apprenticeship, Carillion is the place to start.
Carillion is one of the biggest and best construction companies in the UK. The chances are, wherever you live, you’ve been on one of our roads or walked past one of our projects. We build schools and hospitals, shopping centres and offices, motorways, bridges and railways. But without good, skilled workers we wouldn’t be able to do it! That’s why we’re training a whole new generation of young people in the essential construction crafts and trades. People just like you. Why construction? Construction is one of the biggest industries in the world, offering varied and well-paid work all over the UK. As a Carillion apprentice, you’ll be registered on the National Construction Industry Apprenticeship Scheme, a fast-track career path that could take you wherever you want to go. In two or three years, you could be working on a fantastic project like the new Olympic village, or even setting up your own business.
What’s in it for me?
A Carillion apprenticeship gives you qualifications, real life practical experience and wages while you learn.
It takes two or three years to do an apprenticeship. For part of this time, you’ll be learning from great teachers, with other apprentices at one of our construction training centres. The rest of your time will be spent on construction sites, showing off your skills for real.
What qualifications will I get? Think you can just get a job on any building site? Think again! If you want to work on any major contractor’s building site, you need to have a CSCS skilled worker card, and this will soon be required on ALL construction sites. Your Carillion apprenticeship will give you the NVQ Level 2 qualifications you need to get your CSCS card.
Why Carillion? We’ve been training apprentices for over 30 years. Hundreds of top craftspeople have learnt their trade with us. We have 18 training centres all over the country, where we set the highest standards. Carillion apprentices often go on to get a career in the industry, becoming site managers and supervisors.
